Question & Answer

"Big coca cola spill" in the middle of my living room, and I had to buy the light colored carpet!!!! When the accident first happened, I patted the carpet down with a dry towel. To soak up the coca cola & minimized the damage, I then poured some water and a bit of soap and scrubbed. I know that was probably not the best thing to do, but I panic. Now my carpet has a weird brown tint to it, please help.
Sorry to hear about your carpet. Accidents happen, and the light colored carpet always gets the full force of a spill. I suggest trying out this pop remover for best results, but remember some stains are permanent.cleaning carpet
1.     Mix together ¼ cup of hydrogen peroxide & 3 cups of water. Spray the hydrogen peroxide and water on the stain and let it soak for about 10 minutes.  Mix ¼ cup of white vinegar & ¾ cup of cold water and rinse the stain.  Blot the spot dry, do not scrub.

(Test the pop remover on a piece of extra carpet or in a closet for possible carpet discoloration)
